Title:Main Title: Establishing data management services for multi-disciplinary, long-term collaborative research centres
Description:Abstract: This poster presents RDM services that have been established for the research project CRC/Transregio 32 (CRC/TR32) ‘Patterns in Soil-Vegetation-Atmosphere-Systems: Monitoring, Modelling and Data Assimilation’ (www.tr32.de) since 2007. The practical experiences gained have been and will be used for arranging RDM services for the new CRC1211 ‘Earth – Evolution at the Dry Limit’ (www.crc1211.de), since 2016. Within both projects scientists from various disciplines create heterogeneous data which have to be collected, documented, shared and backed up to reach the project aim. Thus, the RDM services cover for example guidance, training and support for all project scientists. Further services are covered by an RDM system which has been originally designed and implemented for the CRC/TR32, called the TR32DB repository (www.tr32db.de). The system structure was transferred and adapted to the CRC1211 requirements (currently in internal test phase). The repository provides several services such as internal, secure and easy data sharing for project scientist. Additionally, data storage and backup, documentation of data with interoperable metadata, data publishing with DOI, various data search options, data download according to the access restrictions, as well as web mapping features are provided. Finally, statistics about the project repository and its content are available from the repository website.
