| Description: | Series Information: This dataset contains seismic data from a geophyiscal field survey to the Aurus clay pan and the Roter Kamm Crater in the Sperrgebiet in the southern Namib Desert, Namibia. These data can be used to calculate seismic p-wave velocity models of the subsurface, which can be used to determine the geometry and sedimentary thickness of the clay pan and the crater. Measurements at the Aurus clay pan were carried out along two profiles and along one profile at the Roter Kamm Crater. A 40 kg drop weight, mounted on a car, was used as a source. In addition to this, a sledge hammer was used at the Roter Kamm crater, when the source location was inaccesible with car. Signals were recorded with Geometrics Geodes. The data in the dataset has been processed (DC removal, stacking of repeated shots and geometry setup). The equipment was provided by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) (grant: 202126). |
